• Descripción: Sodium 2-(4-methoxyphenoxy)propionate is a chemical compound that inhibits the activity of protein kinase A (PKA). This inhibition is due to the binding of Sodium 2-(4-methoxyphenoxy)propionate to the catalytic site of PKA, which blocks access by ATP. Sodium 2-(4-methoxyphenoxy)propionate has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines in vitro. It also has been shown to be a potent inducer of sweet taste receptors in vivo and in vitro. The inhibition of PKA may be useful for treating bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis.
