Solanidine is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the enzyme activities of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase. The toxicity of solanidine has been studied in vitro and in vivo.
Solanidine is a steroid alkaloid that can be isolated from potatoes and tomatoes. Solanidine has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
