Sphynolactone-7 is a photosynthetic activator that binds to DNA binding domains and has been shown to be involved in the uptake of copper. It causes cell lysis and has been shown to be involved in energy metabolism and infectious diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and hepatitis C.
