• Descripción: 1-(2-Thienyl)-1-butanone (1TBB) is a reactive oxygen species that has been shown to exhibit biological activity. 1TBB is an active oxygen species that can be used as a source of hydrogen peroxide, which is involved in the desulfurization of tobacco and the oxidation of ethylene to produce ethane. 1TBB also reacts with aliphatic aldehydes to form reactive intermediates, which may lead to oxidative injury. 1TBB has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
