4-tert-Butylcalix[4]arene-tetraacetic acid tetraethyl ester is a chemical compound that has been shown to be stable in both water and organic solvents. It can be used as a pharmaceutical dosage form for administration of drugs with poor bioavailability, such as fatty acids. This compound has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer, especially breast cancer, and has been tested in clinical trials for the treatment of potassium ion deficiency. 4-tert-Butylcalix[4]arene-tetraacetic acid tetraethyl ester also has antiviral properties and is being studied for its use against HIV.
