2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidone is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CH(CH)NOH. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and organic solvents. The compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of skin cells by interfering with DNA replication and cell division. 2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidone can also be used as a low energy source for chemical reactions due to its carbonyl group. This compound was found to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria through reactions with oxidative dna and triacetonamine.
