1-Trifluoroacetylpiperazine is a heterocyclic ring that is used as an analog of piperazine. It has been shown to inhibit the peptide transporter and to be an uncharged molecule, which may account for its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. 1-Trifluoroacetylpiperazine has also been shown to have analgesic effects in mice. This drug binds to the 6-membered nitrogenous base in ribonucleotide reductase, which prevents RNA synthesis and protein synthesis. A large number of pharmaceuticals are synthesized from 1-trifluoroacetylpiperazine and it is used as an intermediate in the production of other drugs.
