It has been shown to be effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Epidermidis, but not against mononuclear cells or viruses. 3-trifluoromethylphenylthiourea is also capable of binding metal cations such as copper, nickel, and zinc.
