H-D-Tyr-Val-NH2 is a regulatory group that acts as the prosthetic group for a number of peptidyl and peptide hormones. H-D-Tyr-Val-NH2 is also involved in catalytic mechanism, as it is the amino acid responsible for the formation of peptide bonds in proteins.
