1,3,5-Triazatricyclo[3.3.1.1(3.7)]decan-7-amine is a paraformaldehyde stabilizer that is used in the production of polyesters and polyurethanes from recycled polymers. The alkylene group on 1,3,5-Triazatricyclo[3.3.1.1(3.7)]decan-7-amine can reduce the amount of stabilizer needed to stabilize the polymer during production and processing stages because it has a higher molecular weight and lower volatility than other stabilizers such as nitro or valeraldehyde (paraform).
