Descripción

1,3,5-Trimethyladamantane is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of alkanes and has a chemical formula of C10H24. It has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus at high concentrations. The interaction between 1,3,5-trimethyladamantane and bacterial cells is believed to be due to the presence of hydrogen bonds between the aliphatic chains in 1,3,5-trimethyladamantane with the carbonyl groups on glycerol phosphate.
