[1,2,4]Triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine is a pyrimidine compound that has been shown to have potent antitumor activity. It binds to DNA and inhibits the synthesis of proteins by interfering with the nucleophilic substitutions in the biosynthetic pathway. The mechanism of action is not fully elucidated; however, it has been shown that [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine may act as an active analogue of piritinib. This drug also has a high affinity for thymocytes and peripheral blood lymphocytes. [1,2,4]Triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine also has an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy profile that allows for distinguishing between cancerous and healthy cells. This drug can be used for pharmaceutical preparations such as anti-cancer agents or as a potential treatment for autoimmune diseases.
