Descripción

Trimethyl(2-methylprop-2-en-1-yl)silane is an azide compound that has been used for the synthesis of allylation and squaramide derivatives. It also has been used in the preparation of recombinant proteins, including a model study that involved the use of X-ray crystallography to examine the reactivity of nucleophiles. Trimethyl(2-methylprop-2-en-1-yl)silane is a nucleophilic reagent that reacts with acetaldehyde to form a hydrogen chloride adduct. This reaction can be carried out stereoselectively by using chiral auxiliary molecules or by using chiral catalysts. The rate constants for this reaction depend on the activation energies, which can be determined through kinetic studies.
