Descripción:
The compound 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b][1,3]benzothiazole-3-thiol is a thiol compound that can be synthesized in three steps from ethanol and potassium hydroxide. The reactants are first converted to the corresponding disulfide and then to the hydrazide. The final product can be obtained by reacting the hydrazide with carbon disulfide or sodium hydroxide. The resulting product is soluble in water and has a melting point of 187 °C.
