Allyl-p-Toluene sulphonate (APTS) is a tosylate that can be used as a catalyst for the hydroxy group and allylation reactions. The kinetic data for APTS are provided in the table below.
APTS is a solid catalyst and can be used for hydroxyl group allylation reactions. It has been shown to be effective in polymer conjugates, chemical ionization, anti-infective agents, cancer, quinoline derivatives, and asymmetric synthesis. It also has been shown to react with trifluoroacetic acid (TFAA) to form an ester intermediate which can then undergo a chemical ligation reaction.
