T-1095 is a polycarboxylic acid that inhibits fatty acid synthesis by binding to the active site of the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase. This drug has been shown to have a potent hypoglycemic effect in non-diabetic and diabetic patients. T-1095 also has a beneficial effect on diabetic neuropathy, which is caused by the accumulation of fatty acids. T-1095 reduces low energy consumption and improves glucose utilization in proximal tubules. It also exhibits antidiabetic effects due to its ability to inhibit sodium-dependent glucose uptake in the proximal tubule cells.
