• Descripción: 1,4,4a,8a-Tetrahydro-1,4-methano-naphthalene-5,8-dione is a cyclopentadiene derivative that is used as an inhibitor of the enzyme quinolinium. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of quinolinium at low concentrations with no detectable effect on other enzymes. The compound was crystallized and its X-ray diffraction pattern showed it to be dihedral (two noncoplanar planes) and stereoselective (the left side of the molecule is active). The compound was also found to have low yields in synthesis and inhibits ethyl cinnamate without affecting pyridinium.
