Descripción

Triptolide is a natural product that belongs to the class of terpenoids. It is a potent inhibitor of the signal pathways IL-2 and IFN-γ, which are important regulators of immune responses. Triptolide has been shown to inhibit chemoattractant protein production in human serum, as well as the expression of IL-2 receptor and il-2 in experimental models. Triptolide also inhibits protein synthesis in rat liver microsomes, and has been shown to be active against autoimmune diseases including arthritis, colitis, and pancreatitis. Triptolide has not been shown to have any toxic effects on humans or animals at doses up to 2000 mg/kg body weight.
