Descripción:
tert-Butyl (4-oxocyclohexyl) methylcarbamate (TBOCM) is a cyclohexane derivative that inhibits the action of piperidine and pyridine esterases. This inhibition prevents the hydrolysis of cholesteryl esters, which are involved in the production of bile acids. TBOCM has been shown to be effective in vivo by attenuating atherosclerosis in transgenic mice. It also has a high degree of efficacy when used as a replacement for cholesterol-lowering drugs, such as statins.
