This active form binds to monoclonal antibodies and may be used for the treatment of asthma or other respiratory diseases. 1,1,3-Tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5 -tert butylphenyl)butane is also an important component of self lubricating polymers that are used in many applications including transmission gears and bearings.
