Trimethyl methanetricarboxylate is a mesomeric compound that is used as a solid catalyst for the synthesis of various organic compounds. It can be used to synthesize primary amines, which are useful in the treatment of viral infections and gram-negative bacterial infections. Trimethyl methanetricarboxylate has been shown to have antibacterial activity against gram-negative pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. This compound is also effective at inhibiting the growth of bacteria that are resistant to penicillin and erythromycin.
