Descripción:
Meso-Tetra(4-methylphenyl) porphine is a categorized drug that is classified as a hydroxamic acid. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the activity of a number of enzymes, including anhydrase and carbonic anhydrase. Meso-Tetra(4-methylphenyl) porphine has also been shown to have anti-cancer effects. The mechanism by which this drug inhibits cancer cell growth is not yet fully understood but may be due to its ability to interact with proteins in the cancer cell membrane, inhibiting transfer of molecules from outside the cell into the cell or vice versa.
