Descripción:o-Toluidine hydrochloride is a surfactant with a chemical structure of C6H5CH(NH2)CH2Cl. It is used in the manufacture of food hydrocolloids and in wastewater treatment. This product has genotoxic effects, which may be due to its ability to react with DNA and form p-hydroxybenzoic acid. o-Toluidine hydrochloride has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of other surfactants. The mechanism of genotoxicity is not known, but it may be due to the presence of nitrogen atoms on the molecule or the reaction with DNA.
