Descripción:Titanium(IV) chloride is an inorganic compound that can be used as a catalyst. It is an exothermic substance that reacts with trifluoroacetic acid to form titanium(IV) oxychloride and hydrogen chloride gas. Titanium(IV) chloride has been shown to react with organic compounds such as malic acid, which is a dicarboxylic acid, and cationic polymerization of the resulting titanium(IV) complex. This reaction mechanism can be demonstrated by the following equation: TiCl4 + 4COOH → TiO2 + 4CO2 + 4HCl
