Trimethyltin chloride solution is a chemical reagent that belongs to the class of organotin compounds. It has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory effects, inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-6. Trimethyltin chloride solution has also been shown to be effective in preventing neuronal death in vitro, which indicates it may be a potential treatment for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. This chemical can be used as an organic extractant in solid phase microextraction (SPME) experiments. The response element used by trimethyltin chloride solution is not yet known; however, it is conjugated with glutathione and cysteine and has receptor activity.
