Tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate is a monomer that is used in the synthesis of polymers. It has been shown to have good tissue culture properties and has been used for the production of polymeric implants. Tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate is a reactive compound that undergoes polymerization by hydrogen bonding interactions with other compounds, such as UV-radiation or biological molecules. These reactions are reversible, which means that the polymerization process can be stopped when desired. Tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate is also capable of binding to proteins and nucleic acids.
