Descripción

Tris(2-ethylhexyl)amine is a model system that is used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and structural biology. It has been used in the study of cancer gene therapy, specifically to prevent the formation of DNA secondary structures. Tris(2-ethylhexyl)amine has also been used as a chemical intermediate for hydrochloric acid, which is primarily produced by reacting ethylene oxide with hydrochloric acid. Tris(2-ethylhexyl)amine can be found in many household items like quick-drying adhesives and coatings, carpet cleaners, and disinfectants. It is also used as an extractant for organic compounds with low water solubility. This compound has been shown to have reactive properties that can cause damage to cells from viruses or wild-type strains of bacteria.
