Descripción:Thujopsene is a natural compound found in plants, such as Astragalus species. It has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against bacteria. Thujopsene is an alkanoic acid with a chemical formula of CH3(CH2)2OCH2CH=CH(CH3)CO2H. This compound is soluble in organic solvents and can be extracted from plants with methyl myristate or ether. Thujopsene also has been shown to have effects on the activity of enzymes, such as lipase and phospholipase, which may be due to its fatty acid chains. Thujopsene has been used as a starting point for the synthesis of other compounds for use in drug development and analysis techniques, such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
