Descripción:Thiepan is a proteolytic agent that has been shown to be a diagnostic agent for inflammatory bowel disease. Thiepan is a synthetic compound with an intramolecular hydrogen bond and a hydroxyl group at the para position of the molecule. It is also an enantiopure, which means it has no stereoisomers. The drug has been shown to inhibit muscle cell proliferation and thus may serve as a treatment for inflammatory diseases such as muscular dystrophy or arthritis. Thiepan's nmr spectra show diagnostic peaks at 3.2 ppm, 4.0 ppm, 4.8 ppm, 5.3 ppm, 6.6 ppm, 7.1 ppm, 8.5 ppm, and 9.7 ppm in the region of 0-10 amu (atomic mass units).
