N-Trifluoroacetylpiperidine is a diazo compound that can be used as an inhibitor of certain enzymes. It is an uncompetitive inhibitor of protein synthesis, which means that it inhibits the production of proteins vital for cell division by binding to cytosolic proteins and preventing their interaction with the aldehydes necessary for protein synthesis. N-Trifluoroacetylpiperidine is also shown to have antiproliferative effects, which may be due to its interaction with aromatase and inhibition of the conversion of androgens into estrogens.
N-Trifluoroacetylpiperidine has been shown to inhibit the production of diazo compounds by reacting with carbonyl groups on proteins such as cytochrome c and phenylalanine hydroxylase, which are required for these reactions. The trifluoromethyl group in N-trifluoroacetylpiperidine enables it to bind
