N-tert-Butyl-O-[1-[4-(chloromethyl)phenyl]ethyl]-N-(2-methyl-1-phenylpropyl)hydroxylamine is a polymerization initiator that can be used to produce polymers by stepwise addition of monomers. It is an aliphatic amine that has been found to be a good monomer for the synthesis of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). NBTBTH is an organic compound that can be used in the production of PVC because it does not produce any byproducts when polymerized. The polymerization process begins with the addition of one molecule of NBTBTH and one molecule of vinyl chloride, which reacts to form a new chemical bond between them.
