Cis-1,2,3,6-Tetrahydrophthalic anhydride is a reactive monomer that has been used in the Friedel-Crafts acylation of aromatic compounds. It can be used to synthesize a variety of polymers that are resistant to heat and light. Cis-1,2,3,6-Tetrahydrophthalic anhydride is also a strong antioxidant that has been shown to have antibacterial properties. It has been reported to have anticarcinogenic effects in some cancer cell lines. Cis-1,2,3,6-Tetrahydrophthalic anhydride is found in cyclohexane ring fatty acids and fatty acid groups P2.
