Descripción

Trientine is a drug with long-term efficacy in the treatment of cardiac disorders. It has been shown to be stable in the presence of serum and may be used in the treatment of metabolic disorders, such as hepatitis. Trientine is a coordination compound that contains nitrogen atoms and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer cells. It has been shown to have pharmacological properties that are similar to those of its parent compound, penicillamine. The trientine complex is coordinated through metal-ligand interactions between the nitrogen atoms and platinum ions and ligands based on copper ions.
