Descripción:Tertraethylammonium hydrogen sulfate is the inorganic acid salt of tert-amyl alcohol. It has been used for analytical chemistry, and is also a potent metal hydroxide. Tertraethylammonium hydrogen sulfate is soluble in water and hydrolyzes to form ammonia, sulfuric acid, and ethylene glycol. It has been shown to be nontoxic at low concentrations in animal studies. Tertraethylammonium hydrogen sulfate has been used as an analytical reagent for the determination of metal ions such as copper, lead, mercury, nickel, silver, and zinc. This compound can also be used as a cationic surfactant in pharmaceutical preparations.
