Descripción:
3,4,5-Trithiaheptane is a reaction product of diallyl trisulfide and fatty acid. It has been shown to have potent anticancer effects in cells in culture. 3,4,5-Trithiaheptane is unsymmetrical and can be synthesized by reacting the hydroxyl group of a fatty acid with an ethyl or methyl allyl compound. This product also has an antioxidative effect on lipid peroxidation. The structural formula for this product is CH3CH2CH2CH2SCH3. 3,4,5-Trithiaheptane can be identified using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC/FID).
