Descripción:Triethylene glycol monomethyl ether is a glycol ether that is used as a solvent in the production of polymers and other chemicals. It is also used in the treatment of wastewater, as it can remove heavy metals and other contaminants. Triethylene glycol monomethyl ether has been shown to form stable complexes with trifluoroacetic acid. This compound has been found to have anticancer properties in colorectal adenocarcinoma cells, but not in healthy human colon cells. The effect may be due to the formation of reactive oxygen species and DNA damage by reactive oxygen radicals.
