Thr-Thr-Thr-OH is a tripeptide that consists of three L amino acids. It is chemically reactive and will react with water to form coryneform by hydrolysis of the amide bond. This process can be catalyzed thermally or by acid. The formation of coryneform causes a change in the viscosity of the solution and the release of ammonia. Thr-Thr-Thr-OH has been shown to be unreactive at temperatures below 0°C, but can react at higher temperatures (>60°C). The sequences are COOH-CH2-CH2-CO2H, with an R group on one end and an H group on the other end.
