1H-[1,2,3]Triazole-4-carbaldehyde is a prodrug that has been shown to induce depression in animals. It is also an effective inhibitor of gastrointestinal motility. The carbonyl group of this compound can react with amines and alcohols to form tautomers with different properties. 1H-[1,2,3]Triazole-4-carbaldehyde can be synthesized by the reaction of morpholine and azide in the presence of a base such as triethylamine or sodium bicarbonate.
