• Descripción: 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydronaphthalen-2-ylamine hydrochloride (THN) is a prodrug that is converted to the active form in the gastrointestinal tract by beta-lactamases. It inhibits bacterial growth and crosslinks bacterial cell walls. THN has been shown to be effective against colitis and ulcerative colitis in animals. It also has anticancer activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit colon cancer cells from proliferating by interfering with protein synthesis. THN also inhibits the growth of colorectal cancer cells in a dose-dependent manner.
