Toluene-3,4-dithiolato)zinc(II) is a metal complex with a zinc ion that has been shown to have an uptake of fatty acids. The evaporation rate of this compound is relatively high, with a constant of 2.6x10^-2 cm/sec at 20 degrees Celsius. The compound can be found in the environment as a result of geochemical processes, such as hydrochloric acid and carbon tetrachloride evaporation from soil surfaces. This compound also occurs naturally in plant tissue and in acid solutions with high concentrations. It has been shown that this compound is capable of removing suspended particles from water through the process of clarification.
