2,4,6-Tri(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-1,3,5-triazine (purified by sublimation) is an efficient and reproducible electrochemical aptasensor that can be used to detect the presence of penicillin. This molecule has been shown to have high selectivity and coupling efficiency with a polymer or organic polymer. This molecule has been shown to be sensitive to penicillin and other antibiotics in the same class. It is also able to detect penicillin in complex mixtures of antibiotics.
