3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl Acrylate (stabilized with BHT) is a biocompatible polymer used in coatings and primers. It is synthesized by the reaction of trimethylchlorosilane, an organosilicon compound, with acrylic acid in the presence of a catalyst. 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl Acrylate (stabilized with BHT) has been shown to be reactive and soluble in water, as well as non-toxic and biocompatible for use in various applications. 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl Acrylate (stabilized with BHT) can be used to coat or prime surfaces that are susceptible to corrosion or abrasion, such as calcium carbonate, metals, plastics, or concrete. It also has been found to be effective as a primer for polyester resin paints.
