Información del producto
2,3,5-Trifluorobenzonitrile is a radical anion that can be generated from pentafluoropyridine and chloropentafluorobenzene. It dehalogenates a wide range of substrates including halogenated aromatic compounds. The reactivity of 2,3,5-trifluorobenzonitrile depends on the electron density at the trifluoromethyl group. If the electron density is high enough to form a radical anion, then it will react with electron-rich substrates such as nitriles and amines. When the electron density is not high enough to form a radical anion, then it will react with electron-poor substrates such as alkynes and alcohols. This compound has been used for the reductive dechlorination of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in industrial applications.
