Descripción:2,4,6-Tribromotoluene is a hexabromobenzene that has been shown to have high solubility in chloroform. It is able to form nanotubes with diameters of about 100 nm. Tetrabromotoluene can be prepared from 2,4,6-tribromotoluene by the debromination reaction with ethane or chlorobenzene. The bromine atom can also be transferred to other substrates such as silicon. This compound has been shown to have biological properties and is used in devices and kinetic studies.
