3',4',7-Trimethoxyflavone is a natural compound that is structurally similar to flavones. It has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in cancer cells and to induce apoptosis in these cells. 3',4',7-Trimethoxyflavone prevents the formation of a stable cellular monolayer by disrupting the spacing between cells, leading to cell death. 3',4',7-Trimethoxyflavone has also been shown to be effective against caco-2 cells, which are used as in vitro models for human intestine, and exudates from patients with cancer. This compound has a number of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities.
