3,4,5-Trichloroaniline (3,4,5-TCA) is an active ingredient that is used as a control agent in insecticides. 3,4,5-TCA inhibits the activity of serine proteases and has shown an inhibitory effect on endoparasites. It also has been shown to inhibit the activity of β-amino acid oxidase and cyclohexyl aminobenzoate hydrolase. 3,4,5-TCA is metabolized by the liver into toxic reaction products which can cause bladder cancer. Structural analysis has revealed that 3,4,5-TCA consists of a bicyclic heterocycle with two β-amino acid groups.
