Descripción:Triisopropyl orthoformate is a polycarboxylic acid with the chemical formula (CH)C(O)OC(CF) 3 . It is a colorless liquid that can be prepared by trimerization of propylene oxide. Triisopropyl orthoformate has been used to synthesize perfluorinated alkylthio compounds, amides, and functionalized molecules. It is a reactive compound that can undergo many reactions such as esterification, amidation, and oxidation. The asymmetric synthesis of triisopropyl orthoformate has been shown in the presence of a primary amino acid catalyst. Triisopropyl orthoformate is stable under normal conditions but decomposes when heated or exposed to strong oxidizing agents.
