(S)-1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-1-[(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-6,7-isoquinolinediol hydrochloride is a potent antagonist of the immune system and has been shown to be useful in the treatment of bowel disease. It is used in a controlled-release preparation that is designed to release the drug into the intestines over time.
