Descripción:2,3,6-Trifluorophenol is a decarboxylated product of 2,3,5-trifluorophenol. It is the most popular model compound for introducing the trifluoromethyl group into organic compounds. The synthesis of 2,3,6-trifluorophenol from benzyl alcohol and chlorine is achieved by decarboxylation in the presence of copper (II) chloride. This reaction results in the formation of two isomers with different boiling points.
