Descripción:1,2,2,2-Tetrafluoroethane (R-134a) is a heat transfer agent that is used in refrigeration systems. It has been shown to be an experimental model system for studying the effects of hydrogen fluoride and water vapor on p450 activity. R-134a has been found to have no long-term toxicity or genotoxic activity in animal studies and has a high thermal expansion coefficient. The compound also has low toxicity when inhaled and can be used as a refrigerant.
